KRG Tenby Holiday April 2018

We were fortunate, in an uncertain month climatically, to have three rain-free walking days on our holiday at Tenby. Surrounded as we were by rain on all sides of the UK we were very fortunate. The walks were excellent, two on the Pembrokeshire Coastal Footpath and one inland on the banks of the Cleddau River. The Coastal Walks included time on the Beautiful Stackpole Estate owned by the National Trust and then Colby Woods also owned by the Trust. 35 people enjoyed the holiday at the friendly and very efficient Clarence House Hotel on the front at Tenby.

We were all amazed at the beautiful and sparsely populated stretches of beach all along the coastline. Our day off took place on the only rainy day (and a serious one at that!). However we made the best of it with our coach taking us to St David’s a small town (city?) with an oversized cathedral and ruins of the Bishops Palace. Pembrokeshire is a place full of narrow, sunken lanes which gave us views of wild spring flowers at their best; primroses, vinca, bluebells, violets and the beginnings of wild garlic. We were fortunate to be piloted by Roberts Coaches and our excellent driver Liam. Many thanks to Milton for organizing and putting an excellent holiday together.
