Morecambe Holiday 12 May 2019 for 5 nights Despite some initial misgivings from some members, relating to the location and the perceived image of Morecambe, I think most people were very pleasantly surprised by the sea front and scenery from Morecambe itself and the wide variety of walking areas available close by. Jenny and Dave led a group of 16 walkers around the Countesthorpe area. The original walk was shortened to 8 miles to cut out the worst of the mud!! After lunch at Countesthorpe we walked back to our cars across lovely open fields in the winter sunshine.
The group spent the Autumn of 2019 in the Yorkshire Dales taking part in their self-drive walking holiday. Over the four night stay B and C walks took place each day in the countryside close to Grassington, the area around Settle and on a gloriously sunny day sampling the hills and valleys of the beautiful countryside that is Malhamdale.
